Can you tell me a little about Parade House?
Yes I certainly can Parade House is a home that you feel safe and well looked after, with a big family Atmosphere. The home is always cleaned to a high standard and nothing is too much trouble. It is obvious when you enter the building that it is run by caring devoted staff, you are always greeted by happy smiling faces.
How well are you looked after?
I am always impressed how well we are looked after like I said previously nothing is too much trouble. There is always someone available to lend a helping hand.
Why did you choose Parade house?
I didn’t want to go into a nursing care home. I want to stay as independent as I possibly can, for as long as I can. I want to grow old in the comfort of a lovely home close to my family. Parade House allows me to get closer to my loved ones stay active I learn new things and make new friends.
What is important to you that Parade House offers?
It was important for me personally to have access to the Internet although my son and family are close by and visits regularly I also have a son and friends that live a fair distance away which I email and Skype regularly.
What stood out about Parade House?
One of the factors that were important to myself and my family when looking for residential care was that Parade House’s policy is NOT to use agency staff it was important for me to be waking up each morning with a familiar face, not a strangers face each morning.
Also the level of independence I can have we are close to Monmouth town centre which enables me to go out in the morning to our local shops to pick up my newspaper and also visit the local library on my scooter. This may be small things but they are incredibly important to me.
Are pets allowed in Parade House?
No, however, we have a therapy dog visit once a week also we have activities with animal encounters.
It was made aware to me when moving into Parade House that our family pets are always welcome to visit.
Are there Organised trips at Parade House?
Yes, there are organised trips to the theatre cinema and to Local tourist attractions.
What about food and service?
The quality of food is excellent, we have three meals a day, we also have the option of friends and family to dine with us.
If I have a hospital appointment lunch or supper can be served early or later to my convenience.
When can your friends and family visit?
My friends and family can visit me anytime during the day or night there are no restrictions to visiting times, this is my home.
Any other thoughts?
Parade House offers a quality service you won’t find anywhere else in Monmouthshire.
